A remarkable collection, borne of talent and years of dedicated effort.

The Natural Beauty Of Alabama is not your typical photography book. Fine art photographer and Shelby county resident Frank Emory, collected his images over a twenty year period while patiently exploring Alabama’s out-of-the-way places. The results are a highly personal interpretation of our state.
“I remember hauling my boat back home from a two-day trip to the Mobile-Tensaw Delta, without a single shot. I look for the best Alabama has to offer and on that trip, didn’t find it. Since we aren’t blessed with spectacular vistas, photographically speaking, Alabama is undiscovered. I want to put the astounding beauty we do have on the map.”
Emory’s decision to self-publish also helps distinguish his work. He evaluated six printers in five countries before choosing a press in Korea that specializes in art printing.

“During the press check I was so adamant about color accuracy, they suggested giving me my money back. When I asked how they were able to satisfy major US publishers without a press check, they informed me the concern was never color, always price. Overseeing the printing resulted in a level of printing quality beyond what publishers normally expect.”
Emory’s dedicated  efforts don’t go unnoticed.  His work has a distinctive character and Alabama has never looked  so good. He has the remarkable ability to create extraordinary images from an  ordinary landscape. Not only has he filled The Natural  Beauty Of Alabama with a variety of  interesting images, but a number of them are photographic masterpieces.
